She was predeceased by: her parents, John P. E. and Lillian Dempsey (Harrington); and her siblings, John Dempsey and Elizabeth Smith. She is survived by: her husband William J. Hayes Jr.; her children, Karen Hayes (Janet) and William J. Hayes III (Jennifer); and her grandsons, Peter Donald Simmons-Hayes and Bryan William Simmons-Hayes.
