He was predeceased by: his parents, Jonathan Peterson and Margaret Peterson; and his brother Alan Peterson. He is survived by: his children, Jonathan Peterson, Christopher Peterson (Alyson), Matthew Peterson (Lisa), Kenneth Tubman (Carolyn), Kimberly Ryan (Joseph) and Amy Grzybowski (Michael); and his siblings, William Peterson, Juliana McGovern, Virginia Delaney, Joan Clark and Ellen Curran. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Visitation was held on Monday, April 7th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Dahlborg-MacNevin Funeral Home (280 Bedford St, Lakeville, MA 02347). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Monday, April 7th 2025 at 11:30 AM at the Sacred Heart Church (340 Center St, Middleborough, MA 02346).
