He was predeceased by: his parents, James Curtis Simmons and Irene Patricia Conefrey Simmons. He is survived by: his wife Helen E. Simmons (Tibbetts); his son Steven P. Simmons (Darlene); his grandson Matthew of Manchester, NH; his daughter Linda E Simmons Poole (Craig); his granddaughters, Alexandra of Plano, TX., Brooke and Taylor of Holbrook, MA.; his brother Wesley of Nantucket, MA; his siblings-in-law, Robert Tibbetts (Linda) of Laconia, NH and Evelyn Severns; his siblings, Ruth Macdonald and Raymond; and his grandson Michael Simmons.
