He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence J. Frates and Alice S. Frates (Caveiro); his son Corey Frates; and his wife Elizabeth Frates (Hart-Smith). He is survived by: his children, Brian Frates of Brockton and Kyla Frates of Vermont; his stepchildren, Michael Smith (Amanda) of West Bridgewater, Nicholas Smith (Patricia) of Brockton, Peggy and Kelly Galvin of Brockton; his grandson Landon Smith of Brockton; his siblings, Robert Frates of Middleboro, Wayne Frates of Lakeville, Charles Frates of Wareham and Barbara Ouellette (Robert) of Lakeville; and his sister-in-law Darlene Diaz (Douglas) of Lakeville. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
