He is survived by: his mother Barbara Thatcher (Barros) of Wareham; his close friend Susan Akins of Wareham; his daughter Tiffany Covel (Jim) of Carver; his grandsons, Trey and Tyler Doherty; and his sisters, Bobbi-Jo Thatcher of Wareham, Michelle Baptiste of Wareham and Susan Thatcher-Madden of Carver. He is also survived by several nephews, nieces and friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Southcoast Hospice, 200 Mill Road, Fairhaven, MA 02719.
