He was predeceased by: his wife Gail M. Nelson (Wheeler); and his son David R. Nelson. He is survived by: his stepdaughters, Laura Nehls (Stephen) of Imperial, MO and Dawn Swistak (Peter) of Warren; his granddaughters, Haileigh and Brooke Swistak; his stepgrandchildren, Ashley Casagrand, Stephen Casagrand-Nehls, Victoria Nehls and Shelley Nehls; and his pet Frankie.
