It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Melvin Mayo of Ware, Massachusetts, born in Fairfield, Maine, who passed away on January 8, 2021, at the age of 100, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his wife Vietta Mayo (Poulin); his sons, Melvin "Mike" Mayo, Jr. and Raymond Mayo; and his parents, Oscar Mayo and Jenny Mayo (Chayer).
He is survived by: his children, Joanne M. Bechard (Arthur) of Palmer, Ginny Mayo (Pat Gingras) of Worcester, Rosalie M. Doane of Springfield and Stephen Mayo of Worcester; and his grandchildren, Michael Bechard, Kevin Bechard (Sandy), Joanne Guercia (Paul), Todd Messier, Tim Messier and Louis Mayo (Megan). He is also survived by nine great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Town of Ware, for the Ware Senior Center, 1 Robbins Rd., Ware, MA 01082.
