He was predeceased by: his parents, Xavier Poirier and Laura Poirier (Chiasson); his wife Helen L. Poirier (Gallant); and his siblings, Albert, Johnny, Henry, Gerard Poirier, Catherine Vienneau, Beatrice Graham, Pauline Ferguson, Marie Chiasson, Jeanette Cormier, Margaret Savoie and Lorraine Bourque.
He is survived by: his children, Paula M. Fagan (Stephen) of Waltham, Stephen Hawkins (Andree) of Toronto and Paul Hawkins (Linda) of London, Ontario; his grandchildren, Jessica and Ryan Hawkins; his great grandchild Trent Hawkins; and his sister Madeline Cormier of Melbourne. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews.
