Joan F. (Shaughnessy) Cowie Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joan F. (Shaughnessy) Cowie of Waltham, Massachusetts, born in Newton, Massachusetts, who passed away on August 25, 2023, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, John Shaughnessy and Helen Shaughnessy (Malloy); her brothers, Donald Shaughnessy and Richard Shaughnessy; and her grandson Brian Sandlin.

She is survived by: her husband Robert J. Cowie; her daughters, Kathleen A. Nelson (late Walter) of Waltham, Jean M. Moroso of Marlboro, Ellen R. Cowie of Waltham, Laura J. Bourgeois (Ted) of Middletown and Roberta J. Sandlin (Brian) of Falmouth; her grandchildren, Colleen Wallace (Jeff), Robert Lyons (Sarah), Kevin Lyons (Jennifer), Melissa Theroux (Matthew), Matthew Moroso (Taylor), Nicole Nadeau (Jeremy), Regina Rivard (Mark), Amy Lyons, Jaclyn Onofaro, Kelly Johnson (Adam), Paul Bourgeois (Katie), Stephanie Bourgeois (Justin), Elizabeth Mendicina (Jon), Christopher Sandlin and Sean Sandlin; and her siblings, Ann Chicco (Guy) of Waltham, Maryellen Jasinski (Tim) of Norwood, Thomas Shaughnessy (Joanne) of Billerica and Jack Shaughnessy (late Marie) of Waltham. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews.
