He was predeceased by: his parents, Jeremiah D. Doherty and Theresa M. Doherty (Wilson); his brother John Doherty; and his niece Danielle LaValley-Phiel. He is survived by: his siblings, Denise Doherty of New Hampshire, Darcelle LaValley, Justin Doherty (Betsy) of Grafton and Jason Doherty (Michelle) of Uxbridge; and his nieces and nephews, Amber Pacheco, Stephanie Warnick, Dedea LaValley, Darcelle LaValley and John Doherty.
