She was predeceased by: her husband Donald L. Howes; her parents, Harold George "Chic" and Hazen Whitney (Thornton); her siblings, Harriet Mullen (John) and Thornton Whitney; and her niece Lisa Gilliam (Mullen).
She is survived by: her brother Phillip S. Whitney (Maureen) of Natick; and her children, Donald W. Howes (Susan) of Hopedale and Nancy E. Howes of Bluffton, SC. She is also survived by 2 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren, and 3 nieces and nephews.
