He is survived by: his parents, John and Edna Coty Schaefer Sr.; his wife Molly Curtin; his sons, Dakota Schaefer of Pittsfield and Benjamin Schaefer of Chicago, IL; and his siblings, David Schaefer (Diane) of Virginia Beach, VA, James Schaefer of Lee and Nancy Simonelli (David) of Virginia Beach, VA.
