He was predeceased by: his daughter Diane Flynn of Magnolia; his parents, Michael F. Flynn and Florence Hollingsworth Flynn; his daughter Gretchen Flynn Messer; and his siblings, Michael F. Flynn, Patrick H. Flynn and Mary Ellen Cabot.
He is survived by: his daughter Geraldine Flynn Gowdy (Gigi) of Beverly Farms; his sons-in-law, Trevor Gowdy of Beverly Farms and Charlie Messer of Hamilton; his sister Florence Flynn of Palm Beach; and his grandchildren, Alexa Gowdy of Austin Texas, Trevor Curtis Gowdy of Beverly Farms, Jesse Ussery Flynn of Magnolia, Eliza Ussery Flynn of Andover, Thor and Stefan Messer of Hamilton. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
