He was loved and cherished by many people including: his spouse Jean Slattery (Niose); his daughters, Diane Johnston, Doreen Defina (Richard) and Darlene Connelly (Jim) of Chelmsford; his grandchildren, Jessica, Jimmy, Jared, Joseph, Stephen, Kelly, Nicole and Jillian Connelly; and his siblings, Carol McGonigle, George Slattery and Catherine Bimber. He was also cherished by 6 great grandchildren.
