She was predeceased by: her spouse Leslie F. Wambolt; her parents, William L. Dougherty and Beatrice L. Dougherty (Muse); her son Kenneth L. Mathis; and her siblings, Leven, Fredrick and Betty Dougherty.
She is survived by: her children, George C. Mathis of Sebring, FL, Robert C. Mathis of Pawtucket, RI, John E. Mathis of Lakeville, MA and Viola B. Eaton of North Providence, RI. She is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
