He was predeceased by: his parents, John Silvia and Irene Silvia (Andrade); and his brother William Silvia. He is survived by: his wife Judy Silvia (White); his sons, John "Jay" Silvia II (Kate) and Matthew Silvia (Alyssa Massey); his nephew Eric Doherty (Lisa); his sisters, Ann Silvia and Maribeth Donaldson (Tim); and his grandchildren, John Silvia III and Juliet Silvia. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and many cousins.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his honor to St. Vincent de Paul at St. Mary's 14 St. Mary's Square, Taunton 02780.
