Lorraine J. (Dougherty) Sawejko Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Lorraine J. (Dougherty) Sawejko of Swansea, Massachusetts, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on February 9, 2025. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Frank D. Sawejko; her parents, Joseph Dougherty and Juliette Dougherty (Morin); and her siblings, Joan Biello, Jean Braga, Jackie Abdallah, Joseph Dougherty and George Dougherty.
She is survived by: her sons, John A. Amarantes, III (Paulette) of Somerset, Michael P. Amarantes (Amber) of Assonet, Carl F. Sawejko (Sue Dore) of Swansea and Jeff Sawejko of Swansea; and her grandchildren, Emma Pontes (Gregg) of Westport and John A. Amarantes, IV (Jamie) of Swansea. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, February 14th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Hathaway Community Home For Funerals (900 Buffinton St, Somerset, MA 02726). A funeral service was held on Saturday, February 15th 2025 at 9:00 AM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Saturday, February 15th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Our Lady of Peace Parish in Saint Louis de France Church (56 Buffinton St, Swansea, MA 02777). A burial was held on Saturday, February 15th 2025 at the Nathan Slade Cemetery (220 Prospect St, Somerset, MA 02726).
