He was predeceased by: his parents, Nelson Jarvie Darling, Sr. and Jeannette Craig Devine; his wife Ruth Ward LaCroix; his children, Morris Felton and Sarah Darling Pruett; his grandson Samuel Nelson Darling; and his sister Phyllis Darling White.
He is survived by: his children, William Darling (Betty Breuhaus) and Esther (Michael Mulroy); his son-in-law Robert Pruett; his son Thomas Darling; his daughter-in-law Jillian Darling; his daughter Jeannette (Peter McGinn); and also, Kathy Walker, Katherine (Matthew Norton), Conor Mulroy, Thomas Calder, Robert Mulroy and Andja. He is also survived by 16 great grandchildren.
