He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard Ernst and Florence Ernst; his son Mark D. Ernst; and his sister Alice Rose. He is survived by: his wife Janet (Tucker) of Swampscott; his children, Peter A. Ernst (Karin) of Marblehead, Philip J. Ernst (Leah) of Marblehead, Paul S. Ernst (Sheila) of Plymouth and Maryellen Ernst (Rick Maurice) of Marblehead; his daughter-in-law Dianne Lamb Ernst of Swampscott; and his grandchildren, Madilyn, Julia, Caitlin, Heather, Colin, Sean and Quinn. He is also survived by his many nieces and nephews.
