Joanna Markopoulos Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joanna Markopoulos of Swampscott, Massachusetts, who passed away on March 13, 2023, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her spouse Sarandos "Sam" Markopoulos; her parents, Demosthenes Athanasopoulos and Sofia Athanasopoulos (Tsagaroulis); and her siblings, Georgia Christopoulos, Anastasia Demakis, Matina Kalogeros and Voula Mavroules.

She is survived by: her children, George S. Markopoulos (Marcella) of Lynn and Elpinicki Markopoulos of Swampscott; her grandsons, Sarandos and Petros Markopoulos of Boston; and her brother Peter Athanasopoulos of Canada. She is also survived by her many nieces and nephews.
