He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Joanne Rafferty (Charest); his children, Lynn Stover of Millbury, Dr. Teresa Rafferty, Michael Hull of Worcester, Christine Rafferty (Mark Mercadante) of Webster, Attorney Richard Rafferty (Jeanne) of Northborough, Timothy Rafferty (Cindy) of Sutton and Kathleen Rafferty-Mooney; his grandparent Dickie; his siblings, Owen Rafferty (Margaret), Anna Sarasin (George), Raymond Rafferty (Margaret), Jimmy Rafferty (Margaret), Rita Lavallee (Rafferty), Mary Atella (Leo), Sarah "Sally" Erricola (Robert) and Edward Rafferty (late Lois); and his grandsons, Lawrence Kenney and Matthew Stover. He was also cherished by 11 siblings.
