She was predeceased by: her sons, Lee A. Simmons and Andrew S. Hodges; her siblings, Theresa E. Minkema and Sidney H. Buwalda; and her parents, Andrew Buwalda and Sadie Buwalda (DeBoer).
She is survived by: her husband Charles A. Simmons, Sr.; her children, Charles A. Simmons, Jr. (Nicole), Zabelle Simmons and Natasha Simmons; and her grandsons, Charles A. Simmons, III of Belmont and Thatcher J. Simmons of Belmont. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
