He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Phelps and Phyllis Phelps of Sudbury, Massachusetts.; his wife Bettie Phelps; and his stepdaughter Bonnie O'Connor. He is survived by: his children, Walter Phelps (Deborah) and Jane Hallett (Brian); his stepson Donald Howard (Susan); his stepson-in-law Charles O'Connor; his granddaughters, Bridget Garsh (David), Amber Howard, Kristina LeGrand (Nick), Nichole Latendresse (Chris) and Julia Phelps; and his great grandchildren, Hudson Garsh, Brooks Garsh, Colton King, Corbin King, Collin Latendresse and Bennett Latendresse.
