She was predeceased by: her parents, Adelheid M. Guentert and Dr. Otto J. Guentert of Sudbury. She is survived by: her close friend Michael; her siblings, Regina (Volker) and Martin (Usha); her nieces and nephews, Lara, Elena, Julian (Alli) and Sebastian; and her great-nieces, Frida and Alma.
She retired in 2020 just as the Covid-19 pandemic began. During the pandemic, Barbara came out of retirement to aid with the Covid-19 vaccination effort as a much-needed pharmacist-vaccinator.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial gifts be made to the Barbara C. Guentert '89 Pharmacy Scholarship at the University of Rhode Island.
