He was predeceased by: his sister Sue Kukowski; and his parents, Edgar Staley and Gertrude Staley (Brennon). He is survived by: his wife Mary Staley (Hill); his son Brennon Staley (Vaughn Bell); his grandchildren, Calder and Jasper of Seattle, WA; his great grandchild Sarah Staley (Michael Balulescu); his brothers, Peter Staley (Henrico) and Thomas Staley; and also, Elizabeth and William of Acton, MA.

Contributions may be made in Jack's memory to Jones Field Playground Renovation, Acton Recreation, 472 Main Street, Acton, MA 01720 and Stow Conservation Trust, PO Box 397, Stow, MA 01775, or to another charity of one's choice.

“I am very sorry to hear of jack's passing which i've just learned about in the brown alumni magazine. Jack, pete and i were fraternity brothers. Jack and i lived off campus on bowen st. With dan cain, '68, who passed away from brain cancer a couple of years ago. Pete, dan and i were also on the brown football team please accept my sincerest sympathies. Bill barrett”
