He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard J. "Dick" Mayo, Sr. and Joanne M. "Cookie" Mayo (Sullivan); and his brother Richard J. Mayo, Jr.. He is survived by: his daughters, Meaghan E. Mayo (Austen Pyles) of Manchester, NH and Erin S. Mayo of Londonderry, NH; his former wife Kathleen Mayo of Londonderry, NH.; his siblings, Joanne Cull (John) of Stoughton, Michael Mayo (Susan Duross) of Marshfield and Sean Mayo (Dianne Lopes) of North Dartmouth; his granddaughter Scarlett Pyles; his stepmother Isabel Mayo of Buzzards Bay; his nieces and nephews, Andrew Cull (Jessica) of Attleboro, Mackenzie Cull of Stoughton and Tyler Mayo of Foxboro; and his great-niece Penelope Cull of Attleboro.
