He was predeceased by: his parents, Randolph Carlis and Cora Carlis; his siblings, Alvin Collins, Randolph Collins, Jr., Irene and Anna Brown; and his grandchild Keough Collins.
He is survived by: his wife Martha Ann Collins; his children, Melvin J. Collins, Carl Collins (Wanda), Jimmy Collins (Hope), Ronald Mitchell (Theresa), Arlenda Collins, Sharon Faulkner and Matrisa Crapps (Jimmy); his siblings, Harold Collins (Annie), Mack Collins (Ruth), Ella Hardy, Nettie Johnson and Helen Collins; his grandchildren, Eric Collins, Ruby Sanders, Jineika Henry, India Kyles (Michael), Melvin Collins, Jr., Brandon Watson, Shana Mullen, Tyree Faulkner, Jaimee Collins, Marquez McKreith-Collins, Jazmine Collins, Elaina Therrien and Ronald Mitchell, Jr.; and his godchildren, Latoya Gayle and Lonnie Hill, Jr.. He is also survived by several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
