William Thomas Purchase Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of William Thomas Purchase (Springfield, Massachusetts), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on March 23, 2025 at the age of 66. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard E. Purchase, Sr. and Rita M. Barbieri (Powers); his stepfather Domenic Barbieri; and his sister Debra Fontaine. He is survived by: his wife Diane Purchase (Muzzy) of Chicopee; his son William Thomas Purchase Jr. (Jennifer); his grandchild Mikaela Jayne of Springfield; his son James Michael Purchase (Amanda Spear-Purchase); his grandchildren, Thomas Joseph (TJ) and Lucille Ann (Lulu) of South Hadley; his daughter Amanda Purchase of Ludlow; and his siblings, Nancy Desjarlais (Jim) of Liberty, SC, Sue Melao (Joseph) of Chicopee, Domenic Barbieri, Jr. (Nancy) of Springfield and Donna Barbieri of Springfield. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation was held on Saturday, April 5th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Byron Keenan Funeral Home & Cremation Tribute Center (1858 Allen St, Springfield, MA 01118). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, April 5th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor his memory by sharing a Dad joke, fixing something that needs repair, or simply gathering with loved ones to enjoy a good meal and a game of cards—just as he would have wanted.
