He was predeceased by: his parents, Constantine Proakis and Angela Proakis (Komastakis); his wife Georgia (Christy); his stepfather Andrew Poulos; his siblings, Peter, James Proakis and Sarah Vavolakis (Tony); and his nephew James Vavolakis.
He is survived by: his children, Dean Proakis (Karen) of Agawam, Angela Forward (Tim Lang) of Feeding Hills and Christina Blake (Brendan) of Feeding Hills; his grandchildren, Jenna, Jason Forward, Tanner and Tessa Blake; and his nieces and nephews, Adria Benard, Becky Mitchell, Jen Christy, Billy Christy, Costa Christy and William Christy.
