She was predeceased by: her parents, Thomas J. O'Connell and Anna B. O'Connell (MacFarlane); her former husband Daniel M. Ballard; her grandson Kevin Bourcier; and her brothers, William and Richard O'Connell.
She is survived by: her children, Daniel Ballard (Annette) of Agawam, Kelley Bourcier (David) of Wilbraham, Kathleen Leone (John) of East Longmeadow and Michael Ballard of Springfield; her grandchildren, Lindsey Bourcier, Nicholas and Samuel Leone; and her sister Burness Felici.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, February 12th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Forastiere Smith Funeral & Cremation (220 N Main St, East Longmeadow, MA 01028). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, February 12th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
Memorial contributions in Shirley's memory may be made to Shriners Children's New England, 516 Carew Street, Springfield, MA 01104.
