He is survived by: his wife Sandra of Springfield; his children, Amy Riley (John) of Springfield, Pamela Shafer of Springfield, Robert Shafer of Florence, MA, Tammy Shafer (Cynthia) of Chicopee and William Shafer (Sheri) of Burbank, CA; his brothers, William R. Shafer of Maryland and Fred Shafer (Anna) of Pennsylvania; his grandchildren, Timothy, Robin, Megan, Naomi, Nicole, Kelsey and Cory; and his great grandchildren, Ines, Wynter, Leo, Zadiya, Isys, Shay, Shamarie and Riley.
