He was predeceased by: his parents, Leroy Lyon and Blanche Lyon (Groleau); and his siblings, Leroy Lyon (Hilda) and Beth Zguro (Chris). He is survived by: his wife Maureen Lyon (Griffin); his children, Richard Lyon Jr. (Victoria) of West Simsbury, CT, Beth Newell of Chicopee and Michael Lyon (Cristin) of Springfield; and his grandchildren, Jessica Lyon, Brian Newell, Jeffrey Newell, Michael Lyon, William Lyon and Robert Lyon. He is also survived by his nine great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and several extended family members and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Richard's memory may be made to Shriner's Hospital for Children, 516 Carew St., Springfield, MA 01104.
