He was predeceased by: his parents, Federico Bernal and Catalina Argueta; his wife Catalina Cabrera; his son Yester Bernal; and his siblings, Pastor, Federico (Chico), Esteban, Natalia and Ines.
He is survived by: his children, Adalberto, Geovanni, Hugo, Nery Bernal, Ilbea Ruth Menjirar, Geysol Dinora, Edenia Odaly Argueta, Marbely E. Argueta and Evelida Jannet Salgado; and his siblings, Alejandro and Ester (Lita).
