He was predeceased by: his parents, Martin Brennan Murray MD and Ruth Murray (Manning); his wife Joan M. Murray (Britt); his brothers, John Murray, David Murray, Joseph Murray and James Murray; and his brother-in-law Michael Downey.
He is survived by: his daughter Hope Church; his siblings, Francis Murray, MD (Marie) of Longmeadow, Mary E. "Mary Beth" Downey of Springfield and Regina Downey (Henry) of Springfield; his brother-in-law John "Jack" Britt (Diane Vigneau); his nieces and nephews, Henry Downey (Marissa), Kara Downey, Martin Downey (Kimberly), Colin Downey, Michael Downey (Gabriela), Caroline McArthur (Zachary), Lauren Fiorentino (James), Thomas Costello (Kristin), Emma Murray (Joseph), Timothy Murray (Jordan), Marielle Vigneau-Britt, Paul Sullivan, Sean Vigneau-Britt and Alana Coby; his great-nieces and great-nephews, Henry, Margaret, Eli, Nolan, Brayden, Olivia, Camden, Liam, Connor, Kiera, Sean, Isabella, Carolina, Sophia, Madison, Jack, Luke, Sloane and Nadia; and his friends, Jim, AnnMarie O'Connell and Jeff Culy.
A funeral service was held on Monday, December 16th 2024 at 8:30 AM at the St. Pierre - Phaneuf Springfield Chapels (7 Chapin Terrace, Springfield, MA 01107). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Monday, December 16th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Sacred Heart Church (395 Chestnut St, Springfield, MA 01104).
His family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, December 15, 2024 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Martin requested that memorial donations be made in his memory to the Open Pantry Community Services, PO Box 5127 Springfield, MA 01101-5127 or to the Ronald McDonald House, 34 Chapin Terrace, Springfield, MA 01107.
