Mark M. Mengel S.S.C. Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Mark M. Mengel S. S. C. of Springfield, Massachusetts, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 2, 2025 at the age of 81. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though Mark may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Mark touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Rose and Emile. He is survived by: his siblings, Paul Mengel (Alison), Chris Mengel (Ellen) and Rosalie Ferriter Moore (Tom). He is also survived by seven nieces and nephews, six step nieces and nephews, and their extended families.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, January 8th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the Holy Name Church (323 Dickinson St, Springfield, MA 01108). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Wednesday, January 8th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Wednesday, January 8th 2025 at the Saint Jerome Cemetery (1666 Northampton St, Holyoke, MA 01040).
In lieu of flowers, donations in Mark's memory are requested to be made to the Missionary Society of St. Columban U.S. (http://www.columban.org) or to the Sisters of St. Joseph of Springfield (http://www.ssjspringfield.org).
