He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert Gardner and Maudline Gardner (French). He is survived by: his wife Birdie Mae Gardner (Patterson) of Springfield; his children, Leonard Gardner of Hartford, Richard Gardner of Springfield, Medina Ali of Springfield, Sandra Corder of Virginia and Camille Rivera of Springfield; and his brothers, Albert, Stanley, Cecel, Cassel and Solomon. He is also survived by twenty-four grandchildren and twenty-nine great greatgrandchildren.
