He was predeceased by: his wife Maureen Coughlin; his son James E. Dowd, Jr.; and his grandson Sean M. Byrne. He is survived by: his children, Michael Dowd (Regina) of Southport, CT, Patricia Lutch (Scott Lutch) of Milton, MA and Sheila Byrne (Stephen Byrne) of Longmeadow; his sisters, Dorothy McMahon of East Longmeadow and Eileen O'Keefe of Ware; his grandchildren, James, Kelly, Ryan, Matthew, Kelsey, Brendan and Eamonn; and his great grandchildren, Rose and Victoria.
