She was predeceased by: her parents, Jose Guzman-Oquendo and Flora Guzman-Cruz Ayala; her husband Juan Caballero; and her brother Manuel Guzman (Manolito). She is survived by: her children, Minerva Caballero-McCarthy (Peter E. McCarthy) and Juan Caballero, Jr. (Marilyn Rivera); her siblings, Doña Juana Lopez (Jenny), Don Modesto Guzman-Cruz and Don Secundino Guzman-Cruz; her grandchildren, Moria L. Reardon, Brendan Reardon, Natalie Vasquez, Sheila Marie Vasquez and Kathryn Vasquez; and her great grandchildren, Amanda Sofia Medina, Gia Antonella Rodriguez and Evan Antonio Rodriguez.
