She was predeceased by: her parents, Bernard P. Battles and Mary Ellen Battles (Sullivan); her husband James K. Heffernan, Jr.; her son-in-law Antoine Elias; her brother Bernard P. Battles III; her brother-in-law Lawrence J. Griffin; and her nephew Bernard P. Battles IV.
She is survived by: her children, Patricia A. Carlin (Timothy) of East Longmeadow, Mary E. O'Brien (George) of Springfield, Geraldine A. Elias of Agawam, James K. Heffernan III of Springfield, Susan M. Carey (William) of Springfield and Timothy J. Heffernan (Denise) of Springfield; her sister Regina Griffin of Springfield; and her sister-in-law Pamela Connors of Chicopee. She is also survived by nephews, nieces, grand nephews, grand nieces, cousins, family members and friends.
Her family requests that memorial donations be made in her memory to the Alzheimer's Association, 309 Waverley Oaks Road, Waltham, MA 02452.
