She was predeceased by: her parents, George Wells and Dessie Mae Wells (Guyton); her daughters, Jackie Smith and Jill Perkins; and her siblings, Tom Wells, Tim Wells, Julia James and Helen Robinson.

She is survived by: her children, Kevin Smith (Mary) of Chicopee, Joseph Smith Jr. (Laura) of Springfield, Elaine Hatche of Springfield, Sherry Smith-Jackson (Leon) of Springfield, Joanne Smith of Springfield and Denise Davis of Stone Mountain, Georgia; and her sister Euness Owens of New Jersey. She is also survived by twenty-one grandchildren; forty-four great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
