He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold O'Brien and Helen O'Brien (Ewing); and his brother John O'Brien. He is survived by: his wife Mary O'Brien (Heffernan); his children, William O'Brien (Courtney), Katie O'Brien (Jamie) and Tammi O'Brien; his grandchildren, Pattrick, Natalia, Lauren, Donovan, Rian, Harper and Hudson; his cousins, Linda Herschuk (Murphy) and Jimmy Ewing; and his friends, Rocky, Pat S., Jamie C., Tom Fitz, Ed T., Danny M. and George. He is also survived by brothers in-law, sisters in-law, cousins, nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Gift of Light program, patient services Fund to support current cancer patients through the Mercy Sisters of Caritas Cancer Center in Springfield.
