He was predeceased by: his father Jorge Montero. He is survived by: his mother Anita Montero (Campos); his wife Kathlene Montero (Kurman); his daughter Raquel Montero; his sister Vicky Villafane (Victor); his niece Victoria Villafane (Lockett); his nephew Matthew Villafane; his great-niece Malia Lockett; and his close friends, Cha Cha, Vera and Pippin. He is also survived by aunts and uncles, and many extended family members, church members, and good friends and coworkers, as well as his four-legged companions.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation may be made in George's memory to a charity of one's choice.
