He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred A. Ackley and Irene A. Ackley (Wellspeak); his former wife Marcella E. "Marci" Ackley (Jacques); and his sons, Mark J. "Duke" Ackley and James C. Ackley.
He is survived by: his son Frederick D. "Rick" Ackley, Jr.; his wife Maria of Springfield; his grandsons, Richard "Rich" Ackley (Jenn) of Wilbraham and Scott Ackley (Jill) of West Springfield; and his great grandchildren, Hannah, Jacob, Breydan, Chase Ackley, Dylan Ackley, Rosemary and Bridget Fontaine. He is also survived by nephews, nieces, cousins, extended family members and friends.
His Committal Service with United States Navy Military Honors will follow the Prayer Service at Calvary Cemetery, 292 Hampden Street, Chicopee, MA 01013, (please note that masks are required, social distancing must be observed and funeral home capacity is limited due to state regulations).
