He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward J., Sr. and Grace E. Franz (Myers); his parents-in-law, James J. and Elizabeth Long (Keane); and his son Joseph Edward.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Ellen Franz (Long); his children, Julie M., Salt, Jean M. Noonan of Agawam, John P. (Michelle) of Longmeadow and James M. (Martha) of Longmeadow; his grandchildren, Kristin, Karen, Joseph, Haleigh, Rachel, Meghan, Connor and Matthew; his great grandchildren, Kaily, Kellen and Evangeline; his siblings, Clement (Mary) of Tyngsboro, MA and Grace Tighe (John) of Dedham, MA; and his brother-in-law Frank Long (Lorraine) of Albuquerque, NM. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
