He was predeceased by: his father Samuel of Washington; and his brothers, Gregory of Washington and Erl Kanem. He is survived by: his children, Rosemary, Desmond Jr., Noelani, Djenne, Darrius, Davaris, Makailah, Ciara of Washington, Aneya and Daequan Smith; his mother Rosemary of Springfield; his siblings, Sheilia Was of Tulsa and Eric of Springfield Ma; his niece Nastassia Belcher of Tampa; and his close friend John Davis of Springfield. He is also survived by many other aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
