She was predeceased by: her parents, Walter Shackett and Evelyn Shackett (Hosmer); her husband Richard J. Ruta; her children, Ken Cotton (Vicki) of Chicopee, Richard Ruta Jr. (Dawn) of Westfield, John Ruta (Cheryl) of Westfield and Barbara Lauziere (Jeff) of Chicopee; her grandchildren, Charlotte Lynch, Candace Ruta, Vanessa Ruta, Rachel Elliot, Alyssa Ruta, Jacob and Michael Ruta; her great grandchildren, Penelope, Phoenix, Ava, Hunter, Ryder and Maryn; and her brother Kenneth Shackett.
