It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Aurea Velez of Springfield, Massachusetts, who passed away on January 8, 2025, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Aurea Velez to pay them a last tribute.
As we bid Aurea farewell, let us not mourn the absence of her physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of her spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Aurea is not truly gone, but merely transformed, her energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Juan Velez Vega and Maria Ortiz Rivera; and her close friend Aida. She is survived by: her brother Fernando Ortiz; her niece Rosemary Bonet; and her great-nieces and great-nephews, Gloria Rosa-Aguilera, Joyce Rosa-Bullins, Sergio Colon, Lisa Garayua and Efrain Garayua.
Viewing will be held on Friday, January 17th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Puerta Del Cielo® Funeral Home (730 State St, Springfield, MA 01109).
