He is survived by: his mother Bertha Carter (Starks) of Uniontown, AL; his children, Anthony Wells of Los Angeles, CA, Douglas Spears of Springfield, MA and Machelle Carter of East Longmeadow, MA; his close friend Andrea Goodman of Springfield, MA; his siblings, Leroy Carter of East Windsor, CT, Althea Carter of Westfield, MA and Cynthia Brown of New York, NY; and his grandchildren, Kwame Wilson, Kanada Carter and Mylah Spears. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
