He was predeceased by: his brother Robert E. Barnes. He is survived by: his wife Helen; his siblings, Debra, Barbara S. Hanson, Joan H. Peters and Carol A. Duhart; his pet Lady; and his parents, Wilfred Barnes and Josephine Barnes (Graves). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
