Joseph Richard Belanger Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joseph Richard Belanger (Spencer), born in Worcester, Massachusetts, who passed away on June 2, 2023, at the age of 60, at Southern Maine Health Care in Biddeford, ME.

He leaves his son Joshua Belanger and his wife Leena of Fall River; daughter Janelle Graziano and her husband James of Stoughton and three grandchildren, Isabella, Charlotte and Oliver Graziano; mother of his children, Janice (Gibson) Vangel; two sisters, Jodi Schavone and her husband Peter of Apex, N.C., and Dawn Trethaway of Easton, PA; and brother (predeceased) Derek Foley; nephew, Nicholas Schavone; three nieces, Jaclyn Schavone, Heather and Elizabeth Trethaway; aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was born in Worcester, the son of Richard H. Cogley and (predeceased) Joan R. (Belanger) Foley. He attended Marlborough Public Schools.

Joe lived his life with independence, carefree and playful. His favorite pastimes included working on his cars, computers, playing video games and teaching his son to play chess. He loved nature which included camping, fishing with his kids, and doing goofball antics to incite laughter. His heart was bigger than he let others know. From a very young age, Joe loved moving fast with Big Wheels, bikes, snow sleds, motorcycles, jet skis, motor cars and NASCAR. Forever on the move, Joe left his loved ones far too fast.

A "Celebration of Joe's Life" will be held Saturday, August 5th from 1 to 5 p.m at Marlboro Moose 67 Fitchburg St., Marlboro, MA 01752
